In this conversation with Naashom Marx, Director, Strategic Innovation – Advanced Air Mobility and Calos Ruiz, Director of Commercial Management from Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG), International Airport Review Editor, Holly Miles discussed the airport’s work with autonomous robots within the passenger experience, their wider technology strategy, ways in which they collaborate, and their innovation agenda for the rest of the year.

Passengers are able to make and receive contactless orders directly to their location at CVG Airport as a fleet of fully autonomous delivery robots for food and retail, are being deployed. Customers can select grab and go, beverage and travel items sold at select retail stores on mobile devices.

Passengers receive status updates on their phone and a unique QR code, which can be scanned by the robot’s top camera to open the secure compartment and retrieve their items. The entire delivery experience is contactless and fully autonomous. Congratulations to CVG on this incredible innovation and we look forward to seeing what else is in store.
