Airports Council International (ACI) World has granted Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) with its Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) to reward the exceptionally thorough sanitary measures put in place at the airport in order to counter the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a complete evaluation of the implemented prevention and sanitary measures, ACI rewarded Belgrade Airport‘s efforts based on a scrupulous observation of: The processes of cleaning and disinfecting across the site; the implementation of social distancing markings; the strategic organisation of terminal space; and the awareness communication campaigns for passenger and public COVID-19 prevention measures.

The corpus of health measures set up at Belgrade Airport is part of a bigger sanitary measures campaign organised by VINCI Airports – operator of the airport – throughout its whole 45 airports network, known as the ‘Protecting Each Other’ campaign. The campaign is based on COVID-19 health recommendations issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and other local health regulations.

This accreditation compliments the other health accreditations obtained by VINCI Airports on its international network.

Belgrade Airport‘s CEO, Francois Berisot, stated: “We have always been fully dedicated to making passenger protection and safety our priority, which is crucial nowadays, more than ever. This accreditation shows our commitment to maintaining safe operations, and can reassure the travelling public that all of the necessary prevention measures at the airport are in place.”

The AHA accreditation, as an international programme, has been created in order to reward the airports for their efforts to create a safe transit space for all and their commitment to a high-quality service. Furthermore, this recognition will reinforce customers’ trust in traveling again, by guaranteeing a robust health protocol for them.
