London Luton Airport (LTN) has launched a new evening bag drop service designed to streamline departures ahead of the busy February half term period.

From 16 February, passengers flying with Wizz Air can check in and drop their luggage the night before travel, between 9pm and 2am, for flights departing up to 9am the following morning. The move strengthens the airport’s early morning departure offer and supports smoother terminal operations during peak periods.

The introduction of the service makes Wizz Air the third carrier to operate a twilight bag drop at London Luton Airport, joining easyJet and Jet2, which both introduced similar services in 2025. The expanded offer is expected to enhance passenger flow and reduce congestion in the terminal during early morning waves.

The airport is preparing to welcome around 325,000 passengers over the half term week, with strong demand across European city and leisure destinations. Popular Valentine’s weekend routes include Amsterdam, Bologna and Paris, while Berlin, Budapest, Lisbon, Prague and Seville rank among the top city break choices.

Sun destinations such as Palma de Mallorca, Murcia and Malaga continue to attract travellers, alongside Antalya, Dalaman, Lanzarote and Madeira. Jet2 has also launched direct services to Geneva from 14 February, broadening the airport’s winter leisure connectivity.

Looking ahead to the summer season, Wizz Air will introduce new routes from London Luton Airport to Barcelona, Madrid, Bilbao, Valencia and Seville from 29 March. Jet2 will further expand the airport’s network from 21 May with services to Corfu, Kos, Preveza, Skiathos and Menorca.

Clare Armstrong, Head of Guest Experience at London Luton Airport, said the new twilight check-in option will help even more passengers begin their journeys in a simple and efficient way as the airport continues investing in facilities and customer experience.
