UrbanV, a leader in vertiport infrastructure and Innovative Air Mobility (IAM), has signed a landmark agreement with electric aviation pioneer Future Flight Global (FFG) to launch Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) services, starting in Rome and expanding globally.
Rome to lead launch of advanced air mobility services with global expansion planned
Combining UrbanV’s infrastructure expertise with FFG’s operational capabilities, the partnership will deploy both eVTOL and eCTOL aircraft for urban and regional mobility. Initial operations begin in Rome, followed by expansions across Italy (Emilia-Romagna and Veneto), the French Riviera, and high-growth regions in North and South America, and the Middle East.
The collaboration will begin with joint test flights at UrbanV’s UV-0 test vertiport in Rome. Alongside this, the partners will develop a business plan to support the transition to commercial operations. UrbanV will oversee vertiport design, construction and operations, while FFG will deploy and manage a versatile fleet of electric aircraft tailored to varied use cases.
Market selection for expansion will focus on infrastructure readiness, regulatory alignment, and demand. The goal is to build one of the world’s first fully integrated urban air mobility ecosystems—combining aircraft operations, vertiports, certification, and services. Early applications will include passenger transport, cargo, regional links, and coastal mobility.
Carlo Tursi, CEO of UrbanV, said: “This agreement marks a significant step forward in our plan to bring Advanced Air Mobility to life in Rome and beyond. We are thrilled to collaborate with FFG, a global pioneer in AAM operations… to create a scalable and sustainable air mobility ecosystem.”
Karan Singh, CEO of FFG, added: “Europe represents one of the most promising markets for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM), and UrbanV is at the forefront… We are thrilled to collaborate and bring our shared vision of safe, sustainable, and revolutionary electric aviation to life.”
