Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), managed by Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL), has inaugurated a next-generation Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), delivering real-time situational awareness and transforming how the airport manages routine and emergency operations. Unveiled by Mr Jeet Adani, Director, Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL), the revamped AOCC brings together airport stakeholders for streamlined coordination and rapid response.

Details on Mumbai Airport’s new digital platform

The AOCC has undergone major infrastructure and technological upgrades over nine months, including three 37-metre video walls, advanced communication systems, and an Aerodrome Emergency Control Centre. These systems enable scenario-specific displays and remote updates, enhancing operational agility.

The centre’s transformation is driven by aviio, Adani Airports’ pioneering digital platform. Designed to support mobile-first, data-driven management, aviio enables teams to coordinate seamlessly across departments—from airside to terminal operations—on the go.

Mr Jeet Adani said:
“In today’s fast-evolving air travel landscape, maintaining leadership in technology and setting new benchmarks in innovation and operational excellence is crucial for airports. At CSMIA, our commitment to innovation and delivering a seamless passenger experience has been exemplified by the launch of the new gen AOCC powered by aviio.”

He added:
“With operational control now at our fingertips, we can enable faster decision-making, seamless stakeholder coordination, and greater efficiency in airport management.”

The new AOCC also includes ergonomic seating, IoT-enabled lighting, upgraded conference rooms, breakout areas, a pantry, and bunker beds, enhancing the working environment for staff.

The facility boosts CSMIA’s ability to anticipate issues, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure smooth coordination among stakeholders such as airlines, ground handlers, customs, and maintenance teams. With these improvements, Mumbai Airport continues to set the benchmark for smart airport management in India.
