Terminal 6 at JFK Airport reveals new branding, cutting-edge check-in technology, and sustainable innovations ahead of its 2026 opening.

Terminal 6 (T6) is a central element of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s $19 billion transformation of JFK International Airport into a world-class travel hub. The project includes two new terminals, two expanded and modernised terminals, a new ground transportation centre, and an entirely revamped, simplified roadway network.
Details on JFK Airport’s Terminal 6
At a recent engagement event, Karen Ali, Chief Operating Officer of JFK Millennium Partners (JMP), unveiled T6’s brand identity, centred on the values of innovation, hospitality, and global connectivity. “We are incredibly excited to unveil our T6 brand identity with the inspiring tagline, ‘Start with Extraordinary.’ Whether you’re a guest flying out of T6 or arriving to explore New York City and beyond – every trip should be unforgettable,” said Ali. “With its innovative amenities and unparalleled guest services, our T6 brand embodies our team’s commitment to global excellence and our promise to deliver an extraordinary experience, each and every time.”
The new branding combines intuitive design, global appeal, and local inspirations, aiming to elevate the guest experience. Edward D’Angelo, Senior Director of Global IT Operations at Vantage Group, led a panel discussion on “The T6 Check-In & Security Experience”, highlighting advanced technologies including Flex.Go hybrid self-service bag drop systems, presented by SITA’s Adrian Wang, and security innovations such as CT X-ray screening, eAIT, and CAT2, described by Steve Karoly of K2 SSG.
Guests also enjoyed food from featured local eateries Alidoro Café and BKLYN Blend during the “Taste of T6” panel, moderated by JMP’s Ellen Preimesberger, with insights from Jon Streep and Keishon Warren.
Future T6 Discovery Expo events will showcase retail services, an advanced baggage handling system, and the terminal’s all-electric ground support equipment (eGSE) – the first of its kind at a major U.S. airport. T6 will open in phases beginning in early 2026.
