Airports Council International Asia-Pacific & Middle East (ACI APAC & MID) has announced the winners of its 2025 Green Airports Recognition (GAR), now in its ninth year. Twelve airports from across the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions were honoured for excellence in sustainable energy management, selected from a record 39 submissions.
This year’s theme, Sustainable Energy at Airports, highlighted the aviation industry’s growing focus on reducing environmental impact through innovative energy solutions. Participating airports showcased efforts in areas such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), solar and renewable energy, electric vehicle adoption, green building design, and energy optimisation.
Awards were presented on 16 April 2025 during the ACI Asia-Pacific & Middle East Regional Assembly in New Delhi, India. Platinum recognition went to Singapore Changi, Kansai, Christchurch, and Hubballi airports, with Gold and Silver accolades awarded based on airport size and impact of their initiatives.
