Uber rides green at Mumbai International Airport

In what is considered the first in Mumbai, Uber have announced the launch of Uber Green at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA).

Uber, India’s leading ridesharing app, announced on 21 June 2023, the launch of its flagship EV product, Uber Green with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) being the first location in Mumbai to offer the service. To enhance sustainable mobility in India, Uber now offers on-demand electric vehicle (EV) rides with Uber Green, allowing riders to enjoy eco-friendly transportation options from their phones. 

Uber Green is currently available for passengers requesting a green ride to and from the Mumbai Airport. The new service will be available at a dedicated pick-up zone at Terminal 2 at Mumbai International Airport, and across various parts of Mumbai, ensuring that a wider range of passengers can contribute to reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainable mobility throughout the city.

Commenting on the launch, Spokesperson, Uber India and South Asia, said, “Building on our strong association with Adani Airports and our shared commitment to sustainability, we are thrilled to introduce Uber Green in Mumbai starting from The Mumbai International Airport. By providing passengers with the option of on-demand EV rides, we are collectively taking significant strides towards sustainable transportation and carbon emission reduction in the city.
