Sydney Airport’s traffic performance for March 2022

Traffic figures for March 2022 continue to show a steady recovery in domestic passenger at Sydney Airport, yet a gradual improvement remains for international passengers at 26 per cent of pre-COVID-19 levels.

Total passenger traffic in March 2022 was 1,844,817 passengers, down 49.5 per cent on the corresponding period in 2019.
Domestic passenger traffic totalled 1,502,366 in March 2022, down 35.6 per cent on the corresponding period in 2019. 342,451 international passengers passed through Sydney Airport (SYD) in March 2022, down 74 per cent on the corresponding period in 2019.
Sydney Airport CEO, Geoff Culbert said: “We continue to see a steady recovery in domestic passenger numbers at 64 per cent of pre-COVID-19 levels, with an additional 500,000 domestic travellers making their way through the Domestic terminals in March.
While international passenger traffic is gradually improving, the pace is slower than domestic with international passengers at 26 per cent of pre-COVID-19 levels.”
