In this exclusive interview with Emanuel Fleuti, Head of Sustainability at Zurich Airport, International Airport Review Editor Holly Miles discussed the airport’s green recovery post-COVID, his proudest sustainability achievement this year, the initiatives they are currently running, social responsibility and quick wins that airports can make.
Fleuti said that he was most proud of the opening of new airport city complex, The Circle which achieved the LEED Platinum building label and it is now the largest LEED Platinum building in Switzerland and Europe according to Fleuti.
Fleuti went on to say that the airport is focusing on their OPEX rather than CAPEX, and that the “quick wins are not the big wins. The quick wins are the smaller ones”.
