14 Groupe ADP airports receive ACI Airport Health Accreditation

Groupe ADP’s airports in Paris, Madagascar, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, India and Croatia, among others, have been awarded the ACI accreditation.

As part of its Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme, which is intended to assess the health measures in airports amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, Airports Council International (ACI) World has awarded its certification to 14 airports belonging to Groupe ADP‘s network, including Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) and Paris-Orly Airport (ORY).
Facing the COVID-19 pandemic and to help with the resumption of air traffic, ACI launched the accreditation programme in June 2020 to assess the sanitary measures that have been implemented by airports in line with the international recommendations defined by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council’s Aviation Recovery Task Force (CART), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and ACI.
Open to all ACI member airports of all sizes and in all regions, this programme is based on carrying out an audit through documentation provided by the airport, completed with questions and interviews.

The audit screens all of the sanitary measures that have been implemented – including cleaning and disinfection, staff protection, facilities and equipment for passengers (thermal cameras, anti-COVID-19 screening centres etc.) and communication, among others – and all processes and areas of the airport: Access to terminals, check-in, safety controls, border crossing, boarding lounges, shops, bars and restaurants, elevators, baggage delivery rooms, arrivals area and so on.
To date, 271 airports worldwide have expressed an interest in this certification programme and 126 have already contracted with ACI, of which 36 have been accredited.
To date, 14 airports belonging to Groupe ADP’s network have already been awarded, including the Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports, but also international airports in Madagascar, Turkey, Guinea, Saudi Arabia, Mauritius, Tunisia, India, North Macedonia and Croatia. Eight other airports in the network – like ones in Chile or Jordan – are waiting on certification.
Chairman and CEO of Groupe ADP, Augustin de Romanet, said: “Half of the airports in our network have already been certified by the sanitary ACI programme, which attests to the relevance and the effectiveness of the measures implemented in our terminals. Our main priority is and will remain to guarantee, under the best possible conditions, the heath security of our passengers and all staff at our airports. This is an essential condition to restore trust and regain the desire for travel.”
