Centre of Excellence for seamless travel and identity management opens in Miami

Vision-Box has announced the opening of a new Centre of Excellence in Miami as its main operations hub for the region. The goal is to foster innovation in seamless travel and identity management on the American continent.

Miguel Leitmann, Vision-Box, CEO said: “We’re creating an operation centre to locally serve our customers in both North and South America (…). It also aims at establishing technological blueprints, value-creation frameworks at the benefit of successful digital transformation programmes in the Americas.”

Responsible for some of the most pioneering projects related to the use of biometrics around the world, Vision-Box has opened a new Centre of Excellence in Miami on the 18th November 2018, which will work as the new regional hub for operations in the Americas. It is also an innovation gateway, connecting the Aruba Centre of Innovation, founded in partnership with Aruba Airport Authority, as well as the newly announced Centre of Competences established out of Carrasco Airport in Uruguay in partnership with Corporación América. 

“In essence, we’re creating an Operation Centre to locally serve our customers in both North and South America, and to guarantee the highest level of satisfaction and coverage of our solutions on the ground. It also aims at establishing technological blueprints and value-creation frameworks at the benefit of successful digital transformation programmes in the Americas”, commented CEO Miguel Leitmann at the opening ceremony, which took place in Miami during ACI-LAC Annual Assembly & Conference.

In addition to serving the existing customers in the region, the Centre of Excellence now in operation will unleash regional research and development capabilities in various 4.0 digital transformation fields, such as biometric technology, data privacy, identity orchestration platforms, collaborative data ecosystems, artificial intelligence, machine learning, passenger experience, among others.

Leitmann continued: “We understood that airports, ports, airlines, governments and many other critical actors in society seek to modernise processes related to managing people’s identities, flows and level of service. The Americas Centre of Excellence will provide the support and trust they need when planning their digital strategies, leveraging on Vision-Box global experience, and pioneering identity management ecosystems.”

address the demand for digital identity management platforms especially in the aviation industry.
