The operators of Prague Airport and Incheon International have announced they have boosted their ties by signing an ‘extensive partnership agreement’.

NEW AGREEMENT: Vaclav Rehor and Dr. Il-Young Chung

The signing, held at Václav Havel Airport Prague on Tuesday May 22,  follows an original agreement from 2013, specifying particular areas in which the exchange of information and experience is to take place

From now the main focus will be on airport operations and development, security improvements and customer experience as well as sustainable growth. The treaty also considers the development of new technologies. Specialists of both airports are also willing to cooperate in the area of digitalisation and new technologies, such as biometrics and robotics.

“We can appreciate that, thanks to its busy operations and ongoing development, in many areas, Incheon International Airport is more technologically advanced than our airport. We highly appreciate our partner’s readiness and willingness to co-operate with our airport. We believe that alongside the Memorandum renewal, we will also revitalise our relationship,”  said Vaclav Rehor, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

“During the visit of Incheon Airport management, we started discussing current issues, such as airport modernisation and digitalisation of airport signages. We have searched for modern ways of technologically incorporating other languages spoken by large groups of passengers in order to facilitate the targeted use of airport signage for particular flights. I believe that this will become one of our joint projects.”

President and CEO of Incheon International Airport, Dr. Il-Young Chung, said: “As the aviation demand at Václav Havel Airport Prague is expected to grow continuously, the MOU between our two airports will be of great help in our aviation network expansion. We will continue to establish strategic partnerships with East European airports that have much growth potential, and equip Incheon International Airport with differentiated hub competitiveness.”

Prior to signing ceremony, Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC) representatives toured the areas of Václav Havel Airport Prague. The new partnership was signed on behalf of Prague Airport by Vaclav Rehor, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Radek Hovorka, Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors and, on behalf of Incheon International Airport Corporation, by Dr. Il-Young Chung, President and CEO of Incheon International Airport.
