The 5G network will boost connection and download speeds across the airport, and smart-enable the building to support everything from intelligent automation to energy efficiency and enhanced security.

Edinburgh Airport (EDI) is set to become one of the UK’s most highly connected transport hub with the installation of 5G, after signing a contract in partnership with digital transformation specialist Exchange Communications.
The project, which is set to be delivered in late 2021, will see the delivery of next generation in connectivity technology in what has traditionally been Scotland’s busiest airport, which will boost connection and download speeds across the airport, and smart-enable the building to support everything from intelligent automation to energy efficiency and enhanced security.
Danny Quinn, Technical Asset Director at Edinburgh Airport, said: “Improving the passenger experience is an important part of our approach and the installation of 5G will deliver faster internet connections to our customers, as well as staff and third parties.
“We rely on technology like never before so we want to ensure we have ease of access to make journeys through the airport as easy as possible as we look to recover.”
