The new feature includes maps of Dubai International’s Terminal 3, London Heathrow, London Gatwick, and Hong Kong International.

A new feature has been included in the most recent update of the Emirates Airline app titled ‘Airport Maps’, a new wayfinding feature to help passengers navigate their way through airports. A live navigation option is available, providing step-by-step guidance rather than leaving passengers to navigate a complicated map.

There are currently four wayfinding maps available: London Heathrow Airport, London Gatwick Airport, Hong Kong International Airport, and Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 (Emirates’ hub).

The app can detect the user’s location by utilising Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections, and as a result can provide point-to-point navigation through all ‘touchpoints’ of the airport. This includes check-in desks, Emirates lounges, shops, restaurants, and cash machines within the airport.

Almost 90 million passengers passed through Dubai International Airport in 2018, and the new wayfinding technology introduced by Emirates will provide convenience, world class customer experience, and encourage a seamless travel experience for passengers.
