David Vazquez, Head of Sustainability at London Luton Airport, commented: “We have set an ambition to achieve Net Zero for airport emissions by 2040 – 10 years ahead of the government target. To help us achieve this ambitious target, we are looking to fund local community groups with a commitment to developing innovation programmes and environmental education initiatives designed to enhance biodiversity and drive carbon reduction.
“Grants will be awarded to initiatives that enhance and protect our local environment or that involve environmentally sustainable products or services that will enhance the local environment or conservation areas. We would particularly welcome applications that aim to provide innovation and educational initiatives to build legacy in biodiversity and carbon reduction.”
The application window will close on 30 January 2023 and all submitted projects must be ready to start by the end of April 2023.
