HungaroControl highlights innovation efforts tackling aviation capacity crisis

Despite the issues currently limiting the growth of the aviation industry across the globe, HungaroControl –  the Hungarian air navigation service provider (ANSP) – remains persistent in its innovative efforts, as the industry requires innovation now more than ever to tackle the capacity crisis and to adequately prepare for the future.

HungaroControl’s SkyHub is the brand behind all of its complex products and services, which makes up its tailored solutions to industry. From remote tower implementation through to advanced air traffic management (ATM) tools and intelligent drone applications, each and every solution is built with one purpose: shaping tomorrow’s skies.

Additionally, the power of artificial intelligence (AI) is already being harnessed by HungaroControl in order to leverage its benefits within simulation and operational environments. An example of this is the Virtual Pseudo Pilot – the ultimate software solution for air traffic control (ATC) simulators built with a unique pilot logic, which executes pseudo pilot tasks. Similarly, HungaroControl’s AI-based DeFog Tool is a state-of-the-art software solution enabling the guidance of aircraft, even in dense fog.

CERTIUM Locate, a direction finding system, will be introduced by HungaroControl to enhance the performance of ATC in a crowded segment of European airspace. HungaroControl awarded Rohde & Schwarz with a contract to provide the CERTIUM Locate solution, consisting of seven R&S DF-ATC-S direction finding systems, in combination with a central location server that interfaces with the main ATM system.
