San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has topped the list as having the fastest free Wi-Fi in the world.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) has recently been ranked as having the fastest free airport Wi-Fi in the world, as published by broadband and mobile network testing company Ookla. This analysis focuses on Wi-Fi over mobile connections on free Wi-Fi which is provided by individual airports, as well as Wi-Fi at selected airport lounges.
SFO topped the list, showing a median download speed of 173.55 Mbps in measurements during the first quarter 2024. Below them on the list were Newark Liberty International Airport, John F. Kennedy International Airport, Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. In the case of video calls, upload speeds are even faster than download speeds. SFO had the fastest uploads on the list.
The fastest mobile download speeds on the list were at Hamad International Airport in Doha, Qatar, Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in China, and Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport in the U.S.
