Eindhoven Airport sustainability

More than a thousand solar panels have been installed on Eindhoven's terminal roof in its commitment to sustainability.

Eindhoven Airport located by Eindhoven, Netherlands, is showing it’s commitment  to sustainability and renewable energy by installing a whopping additional 1,068 solar panels on its terminal roof! By doing so, the airport aims to generate a substantial rate of renewable energy to help power their terminal operations.

In total, 1,068 solar panels will be installed on the roof by June 2023, which will increase the total number of solar panels to no less than 1708. This will increase the amount of self-generated energy from 200,000KWh per year to about 590,000KWh per year.

Furthermore, 76 solar panels will be installed on the roof of the General Aviation and Business Aviation terminal in 2023 and this will generate about 27,500KWh of energy annually. Another 845 solar panels will be installed on the roof of the terminal expansion and these solar panels will generate 230,000KWh of self-generated energy annually.

Increasingly generating its own energy is in line with the airport’s sustainability plans. It also fits in with the vision of Eindhoven Airport District. For further information, please visit their website
