As part of American Airlines’ ongoing commitment to Miami, the airline is adding more than 600 home-based reservations jobs. The airline currently has 200 new representatives in training, and a goal to hire more than 400 in the next couple of months, bringing the total of home-based reservations agents to nearly 800. These team members will join more than 1,500 new team members hired at Miami Dade International Airport (MIA) in 2021.
American is Miami’s hometown airline, offering up to 360 daily flights to 140 destinations operated by more than 12,500 locally based team members. Last year (2021), the airline launched six new international destinations and 11 new domestic routes from MIA, resulting in the largest operation in the history of the hub.
