Free webinar – The future of asset management in global aviation
15 January, 2026, 02:00PM GMT
Join this virtual panel to hear from some of the AtkinsRéalis and aviation sector experts as we discuss how asset management is changing and the impact it will have on the future operations of airports throughout the world.
Nazareno Ventola, CEO and MD of Bologna International Airport
Speaking on ‘KEYNOTE CEO forum: What’s keeping them awake at night?’ – Day 1
Nazareno will be revealing details of Bologna Airport’s CAPEX execution programme and discussing this in light of the operational challenges they are experiencing driven by strong demand. Strong demand for travel, coupled with a terminal under refurbishment and construction and increasing stakeholders’ pressures makes for an interesting challenge that the airport is navigating.
Ramón Miró, President and CEO, Quito International Airport / Quito Mariscal Sucre International Airport
Speaking on ‘Data-driven decision making: Defining the future of airport operational excellence’ – Day 2.
“Our continuous pursuit of excellence is the result of a constant collective effort and is part of the DNA that the company has instilled in the Quiport team. When we talk about punctuality in air transportation, we are not just referring to numbers and statistics. We are talking about the ability to make time our ally, to ensure that each passenger can reach their destination without setbacks, enjoying a pleasant and hassle-free travel experience. To achieve this goal, a passenger-centred culture, supported by innovation and technology, is our main tool.”
Last year the airport won the title of “Most On-Time Airport” in the small airport category, according to the ‘2023 On-Time Performance Review’, by Cirium, the source of aviation analysis , which celebrates the operational excellence of the world’s airports and airlines.
The outstanding position of Quito airport is translated into concrete numbers: 90.29% of flights left its facilities on time. These figures reflect the airport’s dedication to optimizing every phase of the journey, from check-in to landing.
Stevie Summers, Head of Baggage, London Gatwick Airport
Speaking on ‘Bags of innovation: Automated baggage handling’ – Day 2
“I am looking forward to taking part in the International Airport Summit and will be speaking on the panel ‘Bags of innovation: Automated baggage handling’. At London Gatwick, we’re always looking at what’s possible in order to improve the efficiency, accuracy and sustainability of the baggage system, and I will be discussing the technologies we are trialling at London Gatwick to reduce manual coding and needed interventions, including data, AI, camera technologies, as well as off load units at arrivals reclaim to reduce manual handling. We are also lucky enough to have an early bag store which gives us the flexibility and ability to manage capacity and accommodate the future growth of the airport.”
