Airport Authority Hong Kong (AA) announced that Fred Lam Tin-fuk today assumed office as Chief Executive Officer.

Mr Lam’s tenure began with an immersion into the round-the-clock operations of the Integrated Airport Centre to gain familiarity with its scale and complexity. He was also briefed on airport contingency plans in the event of unexpected operational issues.

Mr Lam said, “I am honoured to join the Airport Authority team and be part of the Hong Kong International Airport community. I will give my best effort to help strengthen Hong Kong’s status as an international aviation hub, enhance the airport’s capabilities, and ensure that HKIA continues to provide a world-class airport experience to travellers.

“My priorities will be focused on three areas: maintaining HKIA’s high efficiency, planning and implementing development projects, and attracting and developing talent.

“There is also an urgent need for us to expand the airport and move forward with our medium- and long-term developments – namely the Midfield development, the North Commercial District development and the proposed three-runway system. I strongly believe that if all of us in the airport community can work closely together, both internally and with our stakeholders, we can continue HKIA’s success, write a new chapter in its development and enhance its contributions to the economic development of Hong Kong,” added Mr Lam.
