EAU signs declaration to promote higher education for UAE nationals

The EAU has signed the declaration in partnership with the UAE’s Ministry of Presidential Affairs. The MoU outlines the two scholarships that will be awarded to UAE national students at the Emirates Aviation University every academic year (one post-graduate and one undergraduate), in addition to scholarships for other students sponsored by The Ministry of Presidential Affairs, who covers 20 per cent of their fees.

Dr. Ahmad Al Ali, EAU Vice-Chancellor, said: “It’s an honour to partner with the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. EAU is committed to supporting the UAE in growing the knowledge economy and fostering high achievement amongst the UAE national community. By increasing the scholarships available to UAE students, we hope to encourage more nationals to pursue higher education and further academic qualifications. We look forward to welcoming our first scholarship students through this new MoU in the upcoming academic year.”
 
“Scholarships are part of our strategy to promote higher education and help local talent develop their skills and knowledge to achieve the UAE’s varied ambitions,” commented Juma Al Rumaithi, Director of the Scholarships Office at the Ministry of Presidential Affairs. “We’ve had great success in collaborating with various higher education institutions across the nation, including with the Emirates Aviation University, and today we are pleased to formalise that collaboration under this new MoU.”

Emirates Aviation University was established in 1991 and continues to be a leading educational institution in the Middle East for aviation-related programmes. The University is the education arm of the Emirates Group; a global travel and tourism conglomerate known worldwide for its commitment to the highest standards of quality in every aspect of business.
 
The university is licensed by the UAE Ministry of Education and Higher Education, as well as the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). EAU is the first non-federal educational institution to receive a Five Stars QS rating in the region, achieving five stars in teaching, employability, facilities, inclusiveness, and social responsibilities. Furthermore, the university has also attained four stars in academic development and internationalisation categories. EAU offers a new six-month internship programme with the Emirates Group for students who demonstrate extraordinary academic performance during their third year of their study.
