Amsterdam Airport Schiphol is set to become the first European airport to invest and utilise TaxiBots, which are special towing vehicles that enable aircraft to taxi sustainably.
During 2021, Cologne Bonn Airport experienced growth in both passenger traffic and, in particular, air cargo, with an increase in tonnage of 14 per cent - a new annual record for the airport.
By trialling a new 'taxibot', Schiphol Airport hopes to make aircraft taxiing more sustainable by limiting unnecessary fuel usage.
