Cambodia Airport Investment Co. Ltd (CAIC), a subsidiary of Cambodian conglomerate Overseas Cambodian Investment Corporation (OCIC), has appointed Cambodia Airports — a subsidiary of VINCI Airports — to operate its new large-scale airport complex.
Under this agreement, Cambodia Airports will bring its internationally recognised operational expertise to the terminal, which spans more than 240,000 square metres. The operator will implement its culture of excellence across key domains including operational efficiency, passenger experience, and overall comfort.
In addition to managing daily operations, Cambodia Airports will also lead air service development initiatives. These efforts aim to enhance Cambodia’s global connectivity by attracting new airlines and expanding route networks.
This appointment reflects both the long-standing legacy and strategic adaptability of Cambodia Airports. Since 1995, when it first became the concessionaire of Phnom Penh International Airport, the company has helped drive significant growth — increasing annual passenger traffic from just 300,000 to 6 million today.
“We are pursuing our commitment towards operational excellence and the development of the airline industry worldwide. The continuation of our operations in Cambodia emphasises the recognition of the expertise of our teams, who play an essential role in the attractiveness of the region.” stated Nicolas Notebaert, VINCI’s CEO of Concessions.
