For the seventh consecutive year, Fraport AG has again received a listing in the latest Sustainability Yearbook 2014 – regarded as the world’s most comprehensive publication on corporate sustainability performance. To achieve a listing in the Sustainability Yearbook companies must demonstrate continuous improvement of their corporate efforts for sustainable business practices. Commenting on the honor, Fraport AG’s executive board chairman Dr. Stefan Schulte said: “This renewed listing in the Sustainability Yearbook honors our committed efforts towards sustainability in all facets of corporate activity and social responsibility. Creating new dynamics in our sustainability management, year by year for the past seven years, impressively underscores just how well we are strategically placed in this important field,” stressed Schulte.

For example, in 2013 Fraport moved forward with its climate reporting as well as an accounting-based control and reporting system for energy consumption and CO2 emissions. Regular reporting of the relevant data allows Fraport to monitor whether its strategic CO2-goals are being met. Undesirable developments can be detected in advance. Simultaneously, this reporting instrument enables areas of high energy consumption to be identified and allows energy-related and cost-reducing measures to be initiated.

The Sustainability Yearbook is published by RobecoSAM (www.robecosam.com), a leading asset management company focusing on sustainability funds. Every year, more than 2,000 companies are evaluated for inclusion in the yearbook. RobecoSAM has intensified its evaluation criteria. To be included in the yearbook, companies not only have to rate among the top 15 percent in their industry, they also need to reach a point score within 30 percent of the leaders in their industry.
