ADB is responsible for the complete airfield lighting project…

“Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), operational since 1979 is Taiwan’s largest and busiest international airport, and the main international hub for China Airlines and EVA Air. This large-scale end-to-end project aims not only to refurbish the complete airfield infrastructure but also to modernize it to the latest standards to support the strong growth anticipated in the coming years,” said Christian Onselaere, CEO, ADB Airfield Solutions. “As a trusted partner, we have worked closely with the airport and understand their need for a complete, end-to-end solutions provider.”

ADB is responsible for the complete airfield lighting project and will design, supply, install and maintain the airport’s entire Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) equipment. The solution will integrate CAT III airfield lighting systems with a remotely controlled individual lamp control and monitoring system, allowing for improved visibility and safety, as well as greater efficiency in maintenance operations. The project scope also includes the renewal of the airport’s electrical substations and new power supply systems. In the project’s first phase, ADB has recently completed the installation of a backup runway, preparing the airport for the coming phases of the works. The company will then replace the existing AGL, first in the southern portion of the airfield and later in the northern portion. The three-year project, which started in January 2013, is scheduled for completion at the end of 2015.

With this, ADB Airfield Solutions will be the lead AGL supplier at TPE. The project also reaffirms ADB’s AGL presence in the South East Asian region and is another testimony to ADB’s successful, end-to-end approach.
