European flights decreased by 3% in September 2012 compared with the same month last year.
Oil prices fell in October and are expected to fall further over the next five years due to the increasing global production capacity and the economic slowdown at the same time.
Air-France-KLM and Lufthansa reported higher operating profit in the 3rd quarter of 2012 compared with the same period last year.
On 29 October, Hurricane Sandy caused an estimated cut of 40% of west-bound and 9% of east-bound Atlantic flights compared with the same weekday in 2011 (EUROCONTROL, 31 October).
