Gama Group, the global business aviation services provider, today announced a wide range of major investment initiatives linked to the expansion of Gama’s services at Glasgow Airport, Scotland.

Gama Aviation, a Gama Group company, is introducing a number of new and improved services and facilities at Glasgow Airport to be implemented in Spring 2013. These include;

  • The construction of a dedicated Gama Aviation hangar
  • The development of a Gama Aviation executive aircraft handling terminal
  • Enhancements to Gama’s aircraft maintenance capabilities
  • The opening of the Gama Glasgow Operations Centre, with a local team further supporting Gama’s provision of services to the Scottish Ambulance Service and NHS Scotland.

Gama’s 1,600m2 hangar will house not only the dedicated Scottish Air Ambulance King Air aircraft, but will also provide hangarage for up to Bombardier Challenger size aircraft, both from within Gama’s own fleet and third party aircraft. When complete the hangar development will also provide a full base and line maintenance hangar facility, complementing Gama’s engineering facilities in the London area.

The development of a Gama Aviation Executive Terminal, will afford operators a new transit/tech stop between North America and the Middle East in particular. For example, the Glasgow Gama Aviation Executive Terminal will link Gama’s Teterboro, USA, FBO with its new FBO facility in Sharjah, UAE. Glasgow was chosen as the latest Gama FBO as is the optimum stopover point on the ‘Great Circle’ route, being located virtually midway between the USA and the UAE.
