Major airports including Istanbul, Amsterdam, London Heathrow and Munich experienced significant traffic delays in February 2012 as a result of the bad weather conditions, in particular snow, low visibility and strong winds.
In addition, the European industrial action (ETUC) in France and the apron and marshalling personnel strike at Frankfurt airport had major impact on the network during the month.
Average daily air traffic in Europe was 4.7% less in February 2012 than in the same period last year with a 0.36 minutes monthly average en-route ATFM delay per flight.
