Doncaster Airport approves manufacturing and logistics development

Following approval from Doncaster Council, Doncaster Sheffield Airport (DAS) will benefit from the construction of a 325,160m² advanced manufacturing and logistics development. However, the approval is still subject to a S106 agreement and the finalisation of Highways conditions.

The development will be an essential part of the delivery of the masterplan for Doncaster Sheffield Airport, which intends to see a growth in passenger numbers and aims to create approximately 4,300 employment opportunities by delivering a high-quality, state-of-the-art advanced manufacturing and logistics space.

The airport is currently one of the largest strategic development zones in the Yorkshire region, owned and operated by regeneration business Peel L&P. The new developments will aim to make Doncaster Sheffield Airport one of the most significant aviation assets in the UK.

Planning Director for Investment Property and Airports at Peel L&P, Gareth Finch, said: “This decision from Doncaster Council is crucial, as the development will unlock delivery of an innovation cluster alongside strategic logistics facilities. We’re pleased to see this support for our vision to create a truly multi-modal location, bringing a substantial number of permanent jobs in high-value sectors, adding significantly to Sheffield City Region’s economic productivity.”
