Mike is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Fellow of the ICE with 20 years’ experience leading major projects and programmes in the UK and internationally. He brings deep expertise in project delivery, stakeholder engagement and using technology to support commercial success, with a strong track record in transforming performance across complex, multidisciplinary environments. Currently working closely with Heathrow airport, he was previously Head of Commercial and Risk for AtkinsRéalis’ global Engineering Services sector.
Sam Whitehead, Managing Consultant -Strategy and Operational Improvement at AtkinsRéalis
Sam has significant first-hand experience of the aviation industry and an encyclopaedic knowledge of airports and how they operate, specialising in how the interplay between technology, people and process can drive performance and resilience into airport operations.
Sam has led multiple long-term strategic technology enabled transformations at Heathrow Airport, where currently he is Programme Lead for AtkinsRéalis on Heathrow’s Security Programme, which is delivering over £1bn worth of investment in new security technology and transformational change.
Internally for AtkinsRéalis, Sam holds the position of Technical Authority for Operational Improvement, giving him responsibility for capability development, coaching, technical assurance, recruitment and resource management with respect to the Operational Improvement capability area.


Neville Hay, Head of Aviation Security Advisory, Strategy, Partnerships and Director of Training for INTERPORTPOLICE
Neville Brooklyn Hay Avsec PM, MSyl is an independent consultant specialising in the holistic approach to counter terrorism and security, concentrating on risk-based focused outcomes and training, operating and servicing in the space between security and policing. He has 32years operational and tactical policing experience; the latter part of his career spent with Special Branch and National Security.

Auður Ýr Sveinsdóttir is a director of Airport Security at Keflavik Airport, Iceland. She is a seasoned leader with extensive experience in driving innovation and operational excellence within complex environments.
