Approximately $10 billion in CARES grant funding will be divided among commercial and general aviation airports across the U.S.
The U.S. Department of Transportation will award airport infrastructure grants to help improve the travel experience for passengers.
The money will be split between 241 grants which will fund 346 infrastructure projects that include runways, taxiways, aprons, and terminals.
Over the next two and a half years, the selectees will collect drone data involving night operations, flights over people and beyond the pilot’s line of sight, package delivery, detect-and-avoid technologies and the reliability and security of data links between pilot and aircraft.
