Over four million air passengers in May

In total, 4,145,384 passengers travelled to or from one of Avinor’s airports in May. This is 4.4 per cent more than during the same month last year.
Growth was greatest in international traffic at 5 per cent. Domestic traffic increased by 3.9 per cent. The number of aircraft movements increased by 1.8 per cent overall.
At Avinor’s biggest airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, traffic increased by 4.2 per cent. At Trondheim Airport Værnes the increase was as much as 7.4 per cent and at Stavanger Airport Sola 4.7 per cent, while Bergen Airport Flesland saw a decrease of 0.8 per cent.
Among the national airports, Ålsesund Airport Vigra had the biggest growth at 6.9 per cent, followed by Kristiansand Airport Kjevik with 6.4 per cent, Bodø Airport with 3.6 per cent and Tromsø Airport with 1.3 per cent.
Within the regional airport category, Lakselv Airport Banak experienced the greatest growth at 36 per cent. On average, the regional airports had a growth of 9 per cent.
Among the local airports, the average growth was 5.7 per cent.
