Servisair Award guarantees interview for Stevenson College Edinburgh students…

A new industry training course aimed at those interested in a career in the airport travel and tourism industry is being offered by Stevenson College Edinburgh.
Delivered in conjunction with Servisair, the course aims to buck the recession trend by guaranteeing those who successfully complete the course an interview with Servisair for ground staff jobs.
The 12 week Award in Airport Services and Ground Operations, which begins on November 22nd, combines study at the college with two full day site visits to Edinburgh Airport.
Those who successfully complete the course will be interviewed by Servisair for a job commencing in March 2012. Students who do not secure work with Servisair will be given the chance to progress to the full-time NC Travel and Tourism course at Stevenson College Edinburgh in August 2012.
The course will give learners experience and knowledge of a broad range of topics including ticketing, check-in, passenger boarding and arrivals.
Alison Chambers, Associate Principal Business, Administration and Languages, said:
“The Servisair Award in Airport Services and Ground Operations is a great addition to Stevenson’s portfolio and we’re delighted to be able to offer an opportunity that is directly linked with jobs, particularly in this difficult climate.
“Airports are exciting environments to work in and the job market is clearly increasingly competitive at the moment. This course will give people a significant advantage in securing a job and we expect it to be a huge success.”
