The Vietnam Air Traffic Management (VATM) corporation concluded the final acceptance of COMSOFT’s fully automated AIS/AIM solution. Prior to this final acceptance, extensive tests and trials under load conditions had been successfully conducted. During all tests the AIS/AIM solution proved to run in an extremely reliable and stable condition.

The system provides for all Aeronautical Information Services in full compliance with the current ICAO SARPs, with integrated workflows for NOTAM, MET, flight planning, MAP/Chart, electronic AIP, Search and Rescue (SAR), and web-based integrated briefing services.

COMSOFT’s Aeronautical Data Access System (CADAS) forms the core of the AIS and is ideally supplemented by market-leading products like the ESRI charting software and the electronic AIP product GroupVerve of COMSOFT’s business partner Synclude.

In Vietnam, four fully redundant server systems and a large number of terminals were installed in several locations all over the country. The main centre is set up at the Vietnam Aeronautical Information Centre (VNAIC) in Gia Lam (Ha Noi). The three regional centres are set up at NORATS (Northern Region ATS Centre) in Ha Noi, MIRATS (Middle Region ATS Centre) in Da Nang, and SORATS (Southern Region ATS Centre) at Ho Chi Minh City. Furthermore, AIS/AIM terminals are located at all international airports and at 17 domestic airports throughout Vietnam.

With this COMSOFT system, featuring a host of innovative characteristics, the VATM can easily cope with the increasing demands on air traffic management of today and tomorrow.
