IFATCA (International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers Assns) has awarded the first ever IFATCA Technology Award to Imtradex. At the award presentation, the professional association praised the outstanding speech and sound quality as well as the high level of comfort of the AirTalk 3000 XD Flex headset from the German manufacturer. “This award is a great honour for us. The ATC sector has very high standards for its technological communication tools. We are proud to have met these requirements with our AirTalk 3000 XD Flex,” said a delighted Ralf Kudernak, Managing Director of Imtradex.

The IFATCA Award was presented at the association’s 54th annual conference, which this year was hosted in Sofia. In the presence of Bulgarian Transport Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and around 400 participants, Susanne Lastein, Marketing Manager & Sales Manager ATC at Imtradex, accepted the award during the opening event on the 20th April 2015. In her subsequent speech, she emphasised that air safety is very much dependent on interference-free communication between everyone involved. “Misunderstandings between air traffic controllers and pilots can have serious consequences. It is therefore crucial that they understand each other clearly, which makes communication equipment a real safety factor”, said Susanne Lastein.

Imtradex have a range of headset models in their portfolio that have been developed specifically for the ATC sector. They have proven to be very popular among air traffic controllers and also received a great deal of attention from professionals at this year’s IFATCA conference. “Our headsets are already used worldwide in airports, ATC centres and in many cock- pits. Almost all aircraft flying over Germany today are addressed using our headsets,” added Kudernak proudly.

The AirTalk 3000 XD Flex binaural headset is one of the latest communication tools from Imtradex’s aviation range. The noise-cancelling technology (NC) together with the integrated acoustic shock protection (ASP) filters noise from radio traffic and protects against excessive sound pressure levels. The flexible microphone arm allows the user to align the NC micro- phone to their mouth easily and without restriction, thus improving voice transmission. The communication tool is designed to be unbreakable and flexible, whilst also being extremely light and comfortable.
