Orlando International Airport (MCO) continues to coordinate and communicate with the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), federal, state and local health agencies, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and our airline partners to be prepared and minimize the risk to the traveling public from communicable diseases such as Ebola.
“The entire airport community remains vigilant in identifying and responding to the threat of Ebola,” says Stan Thornton, Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. “We want to reassure the traveling public that our emergency first-responders are highly trained, well equipped and ready to respond if needed.”
At MCO Airport Rescue Fire Fighters (ARFF) and emergency medical paramedics are on duty 24 hours-a-day, seven-days-a-week and follow established procedures and protocols already in place if there is an indication of a passenger displaying symptoms and a travel history associated with the disease.
It is important to note that Orlando International Airport has NO direct or non-stop service to the region of West Africa most identified with the Ebola outbreak.
