Chopin Airport handled over 818 thousand passengers in October, a 3.7% increase year on year.
This was despite a 1.1% fall in the number of aircraft movements, which totalled 12.5 thousand – 100 less than a year ago.
According to preliminary figures, Warsaw Airport served a total of 8.07 million passengers since the beginning of the year, an increase of 7.8% on the corresponding period in 2010. Domestic traffic continues to surge, currently standing at 906 thousand passengers (+18.9%). Growth was also recorded in international traffic (+6.5%), with 7.16 million passengers handled so far this year.
Chopin Airport is the largest airport in Poland. It handles scheduled, charter and cargo traffic. In 2010, the airport served over 8.7 million passengers (about 140 thousand aircraft movements), which represented nearly 43% of Poland’s passenger traffic.
