Christchurch Airport resumes operations after New Zealand earthquake

International and domestic flights have resumed following a 24 hour suspension after Tuesday’s earthquake.

Christchurch International Airport in New Zealand has resumed international and domestic flights after a 24 hour suspension following the devastating earthquake which struck the Christchurch on Tuesday.

The 6.3 magnitude earthqauke damaged both the international and domestic terminals at the airport.

The airport is advising departing passengers not go to the airport unless they have confirmation that their flight is scheduled. Travelers holding airline tickets are advised to check with their airline or travel agent before commencing travel to the airport.

International travellers planning to visit New Zealand are advised that all regions outside of the Canterbury area remain operational. As a precaution, travellers are advised to check with their airline or travel agent before commencing travel.
