Record growth in air traffic for Avinor in January

In January a total of 2,966,776 passengers travelled to or from one of Avinor’s airports. This represents growth of 8.8 percent compared to January last year and is more than four percent higher than the same month in the 2008 record year. In terms of percentages, growth is evenly distributed between domestic and international traffic with 8.5 percent and 9.7 percent respectively.
Growth in the number of aircraft movements totalled 2.6 percent compared to January last year, whereof 5.6 percent was on international flights and 1.7 percent was on domestic flights.
Avinor’s largest airport, Oslo Airport Gardermoen, experienced growth of 9.6 percent compared to the previous year. Bergen Airport Flesland saw growth of 8.4 percent, Stavanger Airport Sola 7.8 percent and Trondheim Airport Værnes 7.6 percent.
The regional airports averaged growth of 7.5 percent. At the smallest local airports growth averaged 11.5 percent.
