Telephonics Corporation announced today that its Electronic Systems Division received an order valued at approximately $1 million to upgrade the AeroTrac® Automation Systems at the Southern China Air Traffic Centers of Wuhan, Zhuhai, Guilin, and Haikou.

The upgrades include both hardware replacement and new, advanced software to accommodate near term and anticipated future increases in traffic loads. The upgrade permits additional controller positions and includes new features such as Electronic Flight Strips and ADS-B processing. Additional coordination features will also be provided in Macau and Zhuhai to improve clearance coordination within the adjoining Pearl River Delta region. This will provide controllers with the tools to handle the increase traffic density, while also reducing flight times, fuel and carbon emissions.

”A major benefit of the AeroTrac system is the ability to be configured for en route, terminal, or tower applications” said Don Pastor, President of the Electronic Systems Division. “This flexibility allows our customers to easily upgrade their system to the ever-changing and increasing demands of air traffic management that is being experienced around the world.”
