Low-cost airline Wizz Air to install base at London Luton

Low-cost Hungarian-based airline Wizz Air is to set up a base at London Luton.


The FTSE 250 airline‘s base will open on June 18 with one new Airbus A320 aircraft.
Luton will be its first UK airport with base operations.
József Váradi, Chief Executive said:
“By establishing base operations at London Luton, where Wizz is already the second largest operator and an important supporter of local jobs with our business partners, we are also creating direct local jobs with one of Europe’s fastest-growing airlines for the first time.”
Wizz Air also announced three new routes from Luton to Tel Aviv in Israel, Prishtina in Kosovo and Kutaiki in Georgia. Last year, Wizz Air carried over 5m passengers from the airport.
