Materna takes over almex.express product group from Höft & Wessel

As part of a new strategic direction, Höft & Wessel has now handed the almex.express product group to Materna…

With its Integrated Passenger Services (ips), Materna is among the world’s leading providers of CUSS-based kiosk, web and mobile check-in solutions. Hanover-based Höft & Wessel AG has acted as a hardware partner and kiosk supplier since Materna started in the ips sector. As part of a new strategic direction, Höft & Wessel has now handed the almex.express product group to Materna. This means that all stationary check-in systems activities for customers in the passenger flight sector are now bundled at Materna.
As of 1 April 2013, Materna took over the brand rights, the production, the sales and the maintenance of “almex.express” check-in and self bag drop machines. This is purely a functional succession and not a takeover or partial company takeover. For new and existing almex.express customers, such as Lufthansa and Air Berlin, Materna ips will become the contact for all questions relating to new orders and maintenance.
With this takeover, Materna ips can offer its customers an increased range of services, from hardware procurement through software implementation through operation of check-in systems. This makes the company a real all-round service provider for airlines and airports and allows it to build on its existing good market position.
