Egis has been contracted by the French Air Navigation Service Provider (DSNA) to provide support on major projects conducted by DSNA’s departments in charge of the definition of ATM system requirements & architecture (ESA) as well as their integration, validation and deployment (IVD).
The challenges of the Single European Sky
These projects are conducted by DSNA in the frame of the implementation of the Single European Sky initiative which aims at developing an efficient air traffic management that meet future traffic growth and at upgrading ATM infrastructure through the SESAR programme (“Single European ATM Research”) while maintaining high level flight safety.
For these two projects Egis assists DSNA with the evolution of the ATM systems in order to comply with the new European regulatory standards and interoperability requirements.
Two complementary projects
Egis provides assistance to its customer throughout all the phases of system engineering activities. On the one hand Egis and its partner Atos will support ESA department in the definition of system and architecture requirements and will carry out safety and transition studies related to the evolutions of the ATM systems, either based on components upgrade or new systems.
On the other hand Egis provides expertise to IVD department in conducting tests in order to integrate, validate and deploy new versions of the ATM system.
A team of about forty people within Egis will be involved in these major projects over the coming years.
Through its active involvement over the recent years in the evolution of the ATM systems of DSNA, Egis is contributing to the development of programmes that will enable to meet future air traffic management challenges.
