The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose 3.6% year-on-year to 2,173,656 in September 2012.
Flight movements declined by 1.4%, while maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and cargo declined 1.6% and 11.5%, respectively. The number of transfer passengers using Vienna Airport in September 2012 was 1.3% higher than the same month in the previous year. The number of local passengers rose by 5.1% during this same period.
Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe increased 4.7% in comparison with September 2011. The number of passengers travelling to Western Europe rose by 3.7%, and the Middle East recorded growth of 12.8% during September 2012.
