The number of passengers handled by Vienna Airport rose 3.0% year-on-year to 2,138,588 in August 2012.

Flight movements rose by 1.2%, while maximum take-off weight (MTOW) and cargo declined 0.9% and 10.3%, respectively. The number of transfer passengers using Vienna Airport in August 2012 was 0.4% lower than the same month in the previous year. The number of local passengers rose by 5.0% during this same period.

Passenger traffic to Eastern Europe increased 3.7% in comparison with August 2011. The number of passengers travelling to Western Europe rose by 2.6%, and the Middle East recorded growth of 14.2% during August 2012.
