Farnborough Airport and Farnborough College of Technology have opened applications for the third delivery of their Certificate in Airport Operations course, beginning in November.

Farnborough Airport (FAB), together with Farnborough College of Technology (FCoT), has announced that applications are open for the latest intake of its Certificate in Airport Operations course.
Now entering its third delivery since launching in 2025, the programme provides adult learners with an opportunity to gain insight into careers within the aviation industry through classroom learning and direct engagement with aviation professionals. Since its launch, the course has already helped a number of participants secure employment opportunities within the sector.
Developed in partnership with Farnborough College of Technology and drawing on Farnborough Airport’s aviation heritage and expertise, the programme is tailored to support demand for skilled talent across aviation and airport operations, equipping participants with the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to pursue career opportunities across the sector.
The six-week course, designed for learners aged 21 and over, will begin on Tuesday 3 November 2026 and conclude on Tuesday 15 December 2026, with classes held at Farnborough College of Technology on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00.
Throughout the course, participants will learn directly from subject matter experts working across Farnborough Airport, alongside specialist lecturers from the College. The programme covers a broad range of subjects underpinning airport operations, including an introduction to the airport industry, rescue and firefighting service, health and safety, ground handling, airport operations, National Air Traffic Services, airport security, and customer service, the latter offering the option of a separate assessment for a City & Guilds qualification. Students will also benefit from up to two immersive “Airport Insight” days at Farnborough Airport, shadowing professionals and gaining hands-on learning within their chosen specialism.
Places on the course are free of charge but limited due to continued demand. Applicants who progress through the selection process will be invited to interview at Farnborough College of Technology, and ahead of the course starting, participants will attend a preparatory visit to the airport to meet managers and fellow learners.
