Adani Airport Holdings and IHCL have signed an agreement to develop eight Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger hotels across four Indian airport cities.

Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) have signed a multi-hotel operating agreement to develop eight hotels with more than 2,000 rooms at airports in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati.
Under the partnership, Adani Airports will develop the hotels, which IHCL will operate under its Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands. The portfolio comprises three Taj hotels, two Vivanta hotels, one Gateway hotel and two Ginger hotels, aimed at business, leisure and transit passengers.
At Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM), a Taj hotel will be developed at Terminal 2. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (AMD) in Ahmedabad will gain a Taj and a Vivanta, both in advanced stages of development, while Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport (LKO) in Lucknow will receive a Vivanta and a Ginger. Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati will feature a Taj, a Gateway and a Ginger. Together, the hotels will offer accommodation, dining, meetings and events, wellness and recreational facilities.
Adani Airports expands airport city strategy
The agreement forms part of AAHL’s strategy to develop hospitality-led, mixed-use districts close to its airports and connected to their host cities. With this deal, AAHL has now partnered with hotel brands on 15 hotels across its key airports.
Adani Airports has established Adani Airport City Limited to develop a land bank of more than 655 acres across eight airports in seven states, including almost 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. In its first phase, Adani Airport City will invest more than ₹20,000 crore to develop around 22 million square feet across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.
Jeet Adani, Director, AAHL, said: “Across the world, leading airports are evolving into integrated destinations that serve as catalysts for commerce, tourism and urban growth. Our partnership with IHCL is an important step in this journey, bringing together our hospitality-led mixed-use destinations and India’s leading hospitality company to create world-class hotels across key airport cities with its brands including the iconic Taj.”
He added: “At Adani Airports, our ambition extends beyond operating airports to developing vibrant Airport Cities that bring together hospitality, business, retail and leisure, while enhancing the overall passenger and visitor experience.”
Puneet Chhatwal, Managing Director and CEO, IHCL, said: “As India strengthens its position as one of the world’s fastest-growing aviation markets, airport-centric developments are emerging as important commercial and hospitality hubs.”
He added that the agreement would bring IHCL’s total to 25 hotels at key airports across India.
