Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) and The Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) have signed a multi-hotel operating agreement to develop eight hotels with more than 2,000 rooms across Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow and Guwahati.
The companies described the agreement as one of the largest of its kind. The hotels will be developed by Adani Airports and operated by IHCL under its Taj, Vivanta, Gateway and Ginger brands, serving business, leisure and transit passengers.
Hotel portfolio planned across four airport cities
The agreement covers three Taj hotels, two Vivanta hotels, one Gateway hotel and two Ginger hotels. In Mumbai, a Taj hotel will be located at Terminal 2 of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM). Lucknow will have a Vivanta and a Ginger hotel, while Ahmedabad will have a Taj and a Vivanta, both in advanced stages of development. Guwahati will feature a Taj, a Gateway and a Ginger.
Together, the eight hotels will offer accommodation, dining, meetings and events, wellness and recreational facilities at the airport locations.
Adani Airports has formed Adani Airport City Limited to develop a land bank of more than 655 acres across eight airports in seven states, including nearly 440 acres in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai. In the first phase, Adani Airport City will invest more than ₹20,000 crore to develop approximately 22 million sq ft across Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Jaipur and Guwahati.

The partnership builds on AAHL’s strategy of developing hospitality-led, integrated mixed-use districts close to its airports and connected to their respective cities. With this addition, AAHL has partnered with leading hotel brands for 15 hotels across its key airports in India.
The airport cities are expected to contribute to the economic and cultural attributes of their host cities and enhance the experience of airport users.
